Karafilt finds time-synced lyrics and highlights them line by line and word by word as the song plays, so you never lose your place.
Lyrics are matched from the song title in the tab — great on YouTube, but unavailable on some players like Spotify or SoundCloud, and only as good as the public lyrics databases. How lyrics work.
Those lyrics come from Karalyr.
Karalyr is our sister project: an open database of karaoke lyrics timed word by word by the people who sing them. Karafilt asks it first for every song, which is why the words light up in step instead of jumping a line at a time. Missing a song? Time it there yourself and every Karafilt singer gets it.
Word-level timing
Not just line by line — each word carries its own start and end, so the sweep lands on the beat.
Corrected by singers
Anyone can fix a line or re-time a verse. Nothing is overwritten; every revision stays public.

You'd rather play than sing?
Instrufilt is Karafilt's mirror image: it keeps the lead vocal and mutes the band, then lays the song's chords over the synced lyrics — so you become the accompaniment. Your Karafilt account already works there.
